Family Mediation Lothian aims to prevent damage resulting from family break-ups, principally emotional damage to children and young people by:

• Providing information and advice to separating parents

• Working with the courts and solicitors to make mediation a ready alternative

• Bringing together parents with a trained mediator to achieve agreement on future parenting

• Providing centres where parents can enjoy contact with their child

• Providing 'surviving the break-up' groups for recently separated people

• Providing individual and group support for children
