To ensure that
children, young people and families can overcome special
needs and disadvantages in order to maximise their
potential.
Children and young people in need deserve a head start in
their lives. As well as providing the statutory child
protection services, we are now re-focusing on the
importance of preventative work with young families to help
them cope with the pressures of parenting.
For young people who are unable to cope with a range of
difficulties we will address these issues and work with them
to resolve their problems, e.g. offending behaviour,
truancy, drug/substance misuse, bullying and being outwith
parental control.
