The Health Visiting service undertakes planned activities working in partnership with individuals, families and the wider community for the promotion of health and prevention of ill health.

It is a service providing:

• Home visiting and Clinic Services
• Health promotion support and advice
• Health education information
• Assessment of health needs
• Information about local services - e.g. social work, school health, other health services and voluntary agencies

Role and qualifications of a Health Visitor

Health Visitors are qualified nurses with specialist training in community and public health. They are key members of the primary health care team working with patients registered with the GP practice.
